Yum Cha Dragon Chinese Restaurant
features the lively and social "yum cha" style dining.
In Melbourne "Yum Cha" is served only at lunch, but
Yum Cha Dragon has broken this tradition and offers it for both
lunch and dinner.
On the Yum
Cha menu you will find a variety of smaller sized dishes –
select a few of your favourites and share them with everyone on
your table. You can order dishes from the menu or request them
straight from the Yum Cha trolley as is goes past your table.
Popular items include; Crispy
duck pancake with sweet and sour vegetables, Suckling pig with
pineapple chutney, Sugar cured tuna with beetroot salad and the
Seafood & chive dumpling.
"..I
stumbled into Yum Cha Dragon expecting wondrous things: I was
not disappointed." The
Herald Sun's, Bob Hart
"Its
relaxed attitude and tasty fare could have you adding it to
your list of favourites"
Melbourne City Weekly / Emerald Hill, Micheal Harden
Al-la-carte style dining is also
available for those who prefer it. Try the “char siu beef
tenderloin” – one of the tempting Chinese
Barbeque items. Or go for a “Wok”
dish such as the “stir fried tiger prawns in ginger, chives
and palm sugar”.
For special occasion dining you
can’t go past one of Yum Cha Dragon’s amazing seafood
or barbeque platters. Waiters get so excited when you order
a platter they celebrate by sounding the gong for all to hear.
The interior is something to behold with oriental themed décor, Chinese
ornaments, marble tables, bamboo, lanterns and beautiful chandeliers.
There’s even a water feature complete with 2 large dragons. Groups of 8 can take advantage
of one of the two private dining areas within the restaurant.
Every table has a view looking out to the Docklands promenade and bustling waterways,
however if you want to get closer to the action outside dining
is available under the shade of the giant umbrellas – perfect
for a lazy afternoon by the water.
